Mission

The mission of the Berks County Solid Waste Authority is to manage solid waste and recyclable materials in an environmentally safe, reliable and efficient manner. 

About Berks County Solid Waste Authority

The Berks County Solid Waste Authority was established by the Berks County Commissioners on August 19, 1992. The role of the Solid Waste Authority is to protect the health and welfare of the residents of Berks County and to provide a means whereby Berks County can effectively and efficiently (a) manage and (b) implement the Solid Waste Plan.

Recycling Center Now Under Video Surveillance
The Recycling Center at 1316 Hilltop Road, Leesport is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, under video surveillance and illegal dumpers are being cited.
Glass No Longer Accepted
Glass is no longer accepted for recycling at 1316 Hilltop Rd, Leesport

5 boxes per vehicle maximum
Absolutely no plastic bags will be accepted.

All Visitors Must Remain In Their Vehicle, While On Site.
