Antietam Lake Park Deer Management Program

Antietam Lake Park Deer Management Program

The Antietam Lake Park Deer Management Program is a controlled hunting program designed to reduce localized deer populations and limit negative impacts on the ecosystem of Antietam Lake Park and Mount Penn.  The program is a partnership between The County of Berks, The City of Reading, and Berks Nature in coordination with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Wildlife Services.

The USDA Wildlife Services manages the controlled archery-only hunting program on properties owned and operated by the County of Berks, City of Reading, and Berks Nature.

The 2026-2027 management hunting season will start on September 19, 2026, and continue until January 24, 2027.
