NEW 2022: Note that GA09001-WIFI is not available as a flashport upgrade on Consolette because it requires a special connector. You can take the radio to the Depot as they are able to switch out the connector and upgrade the radio.
Effective August 26, 2019: Multi-System OTAR (GA01620) is available. Users who frequently move from one secure system to another will benefit from the ease and speed that radio keys are shared and updated. Our Multi-System Over-the-Air Rekeying (Multi-System OTAR) feature supports over-the-air-rekeying with up to 19 different secure systems, key sharing across profiles and seamless migration of fielded radios. The customer must order OTAR W/ MULTIKEY as a prerequisite for MS-OTAR.

General Information
FLASHport® Aftermarket Software is used to upgrade to the latest version of your System Enhancement Software Package to upgrade to a different System Enhancement Software Package or to order enhancements for existing for existing ASTRO® Digital APX 8500 radios in the field. FLASHport® upgrade kits contain upgrade software, USB Dongle or software license and upgrade documentiation
There is a new way to upgrade radios in the field. The current method, which makes use of the FLASHport USB dongle, will be supported, but for those looking for a more convenient way, the new online method supported in Radio Management (RM) offers the following advantages:
- Reduce wait time by retrieving the order electronically, rather than via the FLASHport USB dongle
- Work more efficiently by using RM to automatically filter for those radios to which the upgrade order can be applied
- Work in parallel because you are no longer limited by the number of physical FLASHort USB dongles you have
NOTE: Radio Management must be deployed to manage your fleet of APX radios before you can use the online FLASHport method in Radio Management to upgrade radios. For more information on Radio Management please refer to the ASTRO Radio Management page.
Ordering Requirements
1. Specify the current System Enhancement Software Package that represents the software in the radio as the main line item ( T8422, T8423, T8424, T8425, T8426)
2. If you choose to use Radio Management to perform the upgrade enter the online delivery method (UA0083AA) as a sub-item, quanity of 1 only. No selection is needed if using the traditional USB dongle
3. Select the desired Operational Mode, System Enhancement Software Package, and/or System Enhancement Options and enter as sub-items.
4. ALL sub-items must have the same quantity listed (which equals the number of radios being upgraded) even though the main line is ALWAYS 1.
5. Radio Model number and EXISTING FLASHcode must be entered into designated COF fields. A separate line item must be entered for each different combination of Radio model and EXISTING FLASHcode.
6. "FLASH upgrades are not discountable"
NOTE: The FLASHcode can be read by using a USB cable.
