NATURE OF INCIDENT: Illegal trafficking of bulk marijuana and possession of a firearm

PERSON(S) INVOLVED:
Yobani Murillo-Zavala (21 years of age): 500 block Moss Street, Reading, PA
CHARGES:

PA § 780-113 a (30) possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance

PA § 780-113 a (16) possession of a controlled substance
DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
In February of 2026, detectives from the Berks County Drug Task Force received information regarding the sale of bulk quantities of marijuana from an individual who resides in the 500 block of Moss Street, Reading, PA. Based on the information, detectives initiated an investigation which led to numerous purchases of marijuana from Yobani Murillo-Zavala, of 549 Moss Street, Reading, PA.
On May 13, 2026, Magisterial District Judge Alvin Robinson signed a search warrant authorizing the search of 549 Moss Street Reading, PA.
On Friday May 15, 2026, law enforcement officers from the Berks County Drug Task Force, along with troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, executed the search warrant where officers located and detained Yobani Murillo-Zavala within the residence. As a result of the search, the following items of evidence were seized:

Approximately nine (9) lbs. of bulk marijuana (est. “street value” is $30,000.00)

numerous baggies of packaged marijuana prepared for “street sales”

loaded .45 caliber handgun

$8,650.00 in U.S. currency
Yobani Murillo-Zavala was transported to the Berks County Central Processing Center where he is awaiting arraignment.
