NATURE OF INCIDENT:   Drugs and Firearms Arrest

DEFENDANT:      Adalberto Acevedo Jr. (age 39)
75 Overlook Drive,
Exeter, PA
CHARGES:          

• Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
• Possession of a Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor)
• Persons Not to Possess, Use, Manufacture, Control, Sell or Transfer Firearms (Felony)
   

DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the Berks County Drug Task Force, in partnership with the Reading Police Vice Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Exeter Township Police Department, served a search warrant authorized by Berks County Magisterial District Judge Sandra Fegley for the residence of 75 Overlook Drive, Exeter Township.
A search was conducted and the following evidence was seized:

• Approximately four pounds of marijuana
• Approximately sixty grams of cocaine
  • The total estimated street value of the drugs is $16,800.
• Five digital scales, with suspected drug residue
• Packaging materials commonly used for the distribution of narcotics
• Assorted ammunition and firearm magazines
• $37,333 in United States currency believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug sales
• Fifteen firearms, consisting of:
  • Nine handguns
  • Six rifles

The investigation further revealed that the defendant had previously been convicted of felony drug offenses, making him prohibited under Pennsylvania law from possessing or controlling firearms.
"The seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs and fifteen firearms from a convicted felon demonstrates the outstanding work being performed every day by the Berks County Drug Task Force and our law enforcement partners. Drug traffickers often arm themselves to protect their criminal enterprises, creating an increased danger to our communities. Today's enforcement action removed dangerous narcotics, illegal firearms, and the profits of drug trafficking from our streets." — District Attorney John T. Adams
Acevedo was transported to the Berks County Sheriff's Office Central Processing Center, where he was formally charged and arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Andrea J. Book and bail was set at $250,000.
As in all criminal cases, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
