NATURE OF INCIDENT:  Death Investigation

VICTIM:          Candice Y. RIEHL, (53 years of age)
                       Wernersville, PA 19565

                         

DETAILS OF INCIDENT:

On Saturday, January 31, 2026, at approximately 7:11 p.m., officers from the Lower Heidelberg Township Police Department responded to a residence at 616 Fairmont Avenue, Wernersville, PA, for a report of an unresponsive female.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased woman inside the home. She has been identified as Candice Riehl, who was the sole resident of the property.

An investigation into the circumstances of her death is ongoing and is being conducted by the Lower Heidelberg Township Police Department with assistance from detectives with the Berks County District Attorney’s Office. The Berks County District Attorney Forensic Services Unit processed the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Tower Health Reading Hospital.
