INVESTIGATIVE DETIALS:
On April 28th, 2025, at approximately 2:30 PM the Cumru Township Police
Department along with the Berks County District Attorney Detectives Office
responded to a wooded area off Rt. 176 between the Green Hills exit and Rt. 724
exit within Cumru Township for a report of possible human remains that were
located.
Upon initial investigation it appeared that the remains are in fact human and that of
a female. The remains were in an advanced state of decomposition and appear to
have been at this location for a long period of time. Berks County Detectives and
Cumru Township Police secured the area and conducted a comprehensive grid
search looking for all potential evidence.
The remains along with every piece of evidence located were carefully collected
and transported for investigative analysis. At this time, it was determined that
Berks County Detectives along with Cumru Township Detectives will work the
investigation in cooperation to ensure all resources available will be utilized.
