Eric provides direct supervision to Probation/Parole Officers to ensure the effective and appropriate delivery of services based on assessed risk to reoffend. Through the application of Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Eric works with his team to hold individuals accountable to Court ordered conditions, enhance pro-social competencies, and promote community safety.
Eric oversees the Special Supervision Unit in both Juvenile and Adult Probation, the Gang Unit, and the Firearm Suppression Unit, where he ensuring high-risk populations are managed with strategic oversight, structured interventions, and measurable performance standards.
In addition to operational supervision, Eric supervises and directs all firearm and officer safety training for Berks County Probation and Parole. Responsibilities include curriculum oversight, instructor evaluation, and compliance with state and departmental training standards.
A recognized subject matter expert in officer safety, Eric serves as an instructor and content developer and holds multiple advanced certifications, including:
  • Certified Pistol, Shotgun, and Patrol Rifle Instructor
  • Advanced Glock Armorer
  • TASER Instructor
  • Senior Advanced PSS Defensive and Control Tactics Instructor
  • Gracie NEPA Law Enforcement Instructor
  • Certified in G.A.G.E. and S.K.D.
Eric is also a co-author of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) CAPPAC Control Tactics curriculum for County Probation and Parole Officers, contributing to statewide standards in officer safety training. Eric is the President of the JCJC/CAPPAC Safety Committed and member of the Curriculum Workgroup for CAPPAC Firearm Education and Training Committee.
In addition, Eric serves as the handler for SSD Macarena (“Rena”), Berks County Probation and Parole’s Facility Dog, supporting wellness, engagement, and positive interactions within the department and community
