The first official Affirmative Action Employment Plan for the County of Berks was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on June 12, 1975. This resolution (R-25-75) outlines the commitment of the County to comply with the Civil Rights Act of 1974, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and other legal requirements as applicable.
Since the adoption of this resolution, employment policies and practices of the County of Berks have been reviewed and modified as necessary in order to ensure that Affirmative Action is an ongoing, continuous process.
